Terms and Conditions for BoxLog

Welcome to BoxLog! These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the BoxLog mobile application (the "App"). By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Personal Use & Responsibility

BoxLog is a personal inventory app that helps you catalog the contents of your boxes using AI-powered photo scanning and manual entry, organize them by categories, and search across all your items instantly. The App is provided for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not resell, redistribute, modify for resale, or make the App available to third parties for commercial purposes.

3. License to Use the App

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal purposes. You may not modify, copy, reverse-engineer, distribute, rent, lease, sell, or sublicense the App or any part of it.

4. Features, Data & Usage

Box Inventory. The App allows you to create boxes, assign labels, numbers, categories, and photos, and catalog the items inside them.
AI Scanning. The App offers an AI-powered feature that analyzes photos of your boxes to automatically detect and list the objects inside. Photos are sent to OpenAI only after you accept it in the App; you can always dictate or type the contents instead.
Manual Entry. You can always add, edit, or remove items manually without using AI scans.
Search. The App provides a search feature with intelligent synonym matching to find items across all your boxes.
iCloud Sync. Your box and item data is stored locally and synced privately via Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) to your other devices.

5. AI Scanning & Third-Party Processing

When you use an AI scan, the photo of your box is sent to a secure server operated by Kubographics, which forwards it to OpenAI's API for object recognition. The Kubographics server does not store or retain your photos — it acts only as a relay. OpenAI processes the image solely to generate a list of detected objects. By using this feature, you acknowledge that your photo will be processed by OpenAI under their Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. AI scanning is entirely optional.

6. In-App Purchases & Refunds

Free Version: Unlimited manual boxes and search, 3 dictated boxes and 2 AI scans.
BoxLog Pro (one-time purchase): Unlimited dictation and 100 AI scans per year, renewing every year from the purchase date. It is not a subscription and can be restored on your devices with the same Apple ID.
Unused scans: AI scans not used within a Pro year do not carry over to the next year. A scan is only counted when the AI returns results.
All purchases are processed by Apple. Prices may vary by region according to Apple policies. Refunds are handled solely under Apple's policy: Apple Support.

7. Privacy & Data

We aim to minimize data collection. Your inventory data is stored locally on your device and synced privately via iCloud (CloudKit). Photos sent for AI scanning are processed by OpenAI and are not stored by Kubographics. We do not collect analytics, advertising identifiers, or personal information. 8. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind.
We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with all devices/OS versions.
AI object recognition is provided on a best-effort basis. Results may not be 100% accurate — you should always review and confirm detected items.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the App is to stop using it.

10. Termination & Availability

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or certain features at any time without notice.
We may revoke access if you violate these Terms or misuse the App.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Terms. The "Last Updated" date reflects the latest changes.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The competent courts in Spain shall have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that may grant you additional rights in your country of residence.
